WD Purple Pro 8TB Surveillance Hard Drive (7200 RPM, 256MB Cache, AI Analytics)
- Description
Product Overview
The WD85PURZ 8TB 3.5" Enterprise Surveillance Hard Drive is a top-tier storage solution manufactured by Western Digital under the specialized WD Purple™ Pro enterprise line. Engineered specifically for advanced AI-enabled network video recorders (NVRs), deep learning video analytics appliances, enterprise video management servers (VMS), and multi-bay commercial storage arrays, this drive supports demanding, heavy-write workloads without dropped frames or processing bottlenecks.
Equipped with Western Digital's advanced AllFrame™ AI technology, the WD85PURZ handles up to 64 single-stream high-definition (HD) cameras simultaneously alongside 32 additional AI streams dedicated to on-device deep learning analytics (such as facial recognition, ANPR/LPR license plate reading, object tracking, and heat mapping). Powered by enterprise-grade 7200 RPM spindle mechanics, a large 256MB cache buffer, and a SATA 6.0 Gb/s (SATA3) interface using conventional magnetic recording (CMR), it provides an enterprise workload rating of up to 550 TB/year and a 2.5 million-hour MTBF. Integrated Rotational Vibration (RV) sensors safeguard data integrity inside multi-drive rackmount chassis, making it the ideal choice for large-scale enterprise perimeters, transportation hubs, corporate headquarters, and city surveillance networks.
