WD Purple 6TB Surveillance Hard Drive (5400 RPM, 128MB Cache, Up to 64 HD Cameras)
- Description
Product Overview
The WD64PURZ 6TB 3.5" Surveillance Hard Drive is an enterprise-grade internal mechanical storage drive. Engineered specifically to meet the demanding requirements of 24/7 always-on high-definition surveillance environments, this drive delivers continuous video recording and long-term retention for professional NVR and DVR installations, preventing dropped frames and visual stuttering across high-density multi-camera streams.
Featuring Western Digital's proprietary AllFrame™ technology, the WD64PURZ optimizes ATA video streaming commands to reduce pixelation and frame errors while supporting configurations with up to 64 single-stream high-definition (HD) cameras alongside additional deep learning AI analytic streams. Built on conventional magnetic recording (CMR) mechanics operating at an energy-efficient 5400 RPM class with a 128MB cache buffer and a SATA 6.0 Gb/s (SATA3) interface, it provides an annualized workload rating of 180 TB/year—three times the endurance of standard desktop drives. It is ideal for commercial installations, multi-family residential complexes, shopping centers, and enterprise NVR chassis requiring massive surveillance write endurance.
✅ Key Features
-
Surveillance-Grade Engineering: Purpose-built for 24/7 continuous operation in high-definition video surveillance recording systems.
-
Exclusive AllFrame™ Technology: Improves ATA streaming to reduce frame drops, refine video playback, and optimize high-throughput multi-camera recording.
-
Support for up to 64 HD Cameras: Engineered to ingest video feeds from up to 64 single-stream high-definition cameras concurrently.
-
Workload Rating up to 180 TB/Year: Delivers up to 3× the workload capacity of standard desktop drives to handle heavy continuous video write loads.
-
128MB Cache Buffer: Multi-segmented cache buffer handles sustained multi-channel data throughput and concurrent read/write operations.
-
CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording): Leverages proven CMR architecture for consistent, uninterrupted write performance across the entire 6TB volume.
-
Energy-Efficient 5400 RPM Spindle: Reduces heat dissipation, mechanical vibration, and power draw in multi-bay NVR enclosures.
-
Tarnish-Resistant Components: Constructed with corrosion-resistant internal hardware for dependable long-term operation in challenging physical environments.
