Building upon Ajax's standard visual verification technology, this PhOD (Photo on Demand) version empowers home and business owners, as well as authorized monitoring station operators, to take visual snapshots on demand at any time through the Ajax application, while also triggering automatic photo bursts during intrusion alarms, panic events, or arming schedule transitions.

Equipped with an optical PIR sensor paired with the proprietary SmartDetect software algorithm, the detector reliably senses human motion across an operational radius up to 12 meters (39.4 ft) with an 88.5° horizontal field of view, while filtering out thermal noise, airflow drafts, and domestic pets weighing up to 20 kg (44 lbs) and under 50 cm in height. The integrated camera features built-in infrared (IR) night vision illumination to capture sharp photos in high or low-light conditions up to 640 × 480 pixels. Operating across dual secure wireless protocols—Jeweller for instantaneous 0.15-second alarm delivery and Wings for high-speed encrypted image transmission—it maintains a line-of-sight communication range up to 1,700 meters (5,575 ft) from compatible Ajax hubs.
